TPO Roofing
Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) is a newer roofing material that is a single-ply roofing membrane made with three layers: a TPO polymer base, a polyester-reinforced scrim and a TPO compounded top ply — making it four times stronger than an EPDM roof.
Its reflective properties help make TPO incredibly energy efficient and cost-effective. And, it’s the most eco-friendly, single-ply roof available. Other benefits include water-resistant seams, flexible material that can withstand movement and house setting. TPO roofing is available in different colors including white, black, and grey.
EDPM Roofing
Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) roofing is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing option. Typically, EDPM roofing has a lower cost than a TPO or PVC roof. That said, it is a resilient and flexible roofing option that offers plenty of energy-efficiency. It’s also eco-friendly.
Like other rubber roofing solutions, EPDM roofing can lower your cooling costs by reflecting heat and “breathing” to allow heat and vapor to exit the building. It also insulates your home during the Wisconsin winter months, keeping the warmth in your home.
PVC Roofing
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is made with chlorine salts and plasticizers, which is what makes this roofing option so flexible. PVC roofs are known for their great strength, longevity, and ability to resist moisture (thanks to welded seams that form a water-tight bond).
Energy-efficient with heating and cooling, PVC reflects the sun just like EDPM and TPO roofing. It’s also incredibly durable, resistant to chemicals and fire. PVC roofing is also eco-friendly — it’s actually recyclable.
