CLASS 3 IMPACT RESISTANCE RATING
Heavy-weight construction — along with IKO’s proprietary, modified asphalt — act as a shock absorber, cushioning the impact of hail.

BUILT-IN ALGAE RESISTANCE
IKO embeds copper-coated granules into their Royal Estate shingles, which helps inhibit growth of blue-green algae that can cause black stains, streaks and discoloration on a roof. This superior granule technology also inhibits damage from ultraviolet rays.
IKO FASTLOCK® SEALANT STRIPS
Shingles should lie flat, and stay in place, on your roof. If wind lifts shingles up, water from ice dams or wind-driven rain can get in-between the shingles and the underlay. This can lead to a leaky roof. IKO Royal Estate shingles are made with FastLock sealant strips along the bottom edges of the shingles. An amazing feature, FastLock is activated by the sun’s heat, which makes it super tacky — creating an excellent bond that ensures maximum protection against blow-off, wind uplift and water penetration.
